A funky, branded food business looking for a Technical Specialist to help them scale up to new heights.
This funky business has taken science nutrition to the next level. They have created healthy, delicious products, normally up there as one of the naughtiest in terms of sugar and fat content. We’re talking cookies, donuts, muffins, with half the fat and sugar content, added fibre, and of course up to half the calories. With no compromise on taste, texture, appearance, and sheer indulgence, it’s no wonder their products are flying off the shelves.
Branded retail outlets are already established in some key locations in London and the South. Now the retailers are interested, including Selfridges, Tesco, and Sainsbury’s. The next stage is to take them from SALSA accreditation to BRC, which is where you come in.
Your experience will include supplier auditing and risk management, leading customer audits, and the ability to be hands-on across the factory, driving a rigorous food safety culture. You’ll own the HACCP, updating current food safety and quality systems, and ensuring documentation aligns with company growth.
Overall, you’ll have a genuine interest in food science innovation. This is a business a good way down the line from start-up, however, everyone is hands-on and prepared to roll their sleeves up to meet the demand.
You’ll be the main technical person on site, with the opportunity to influence best practice, future strategy, and become a valued member of the senior team.
As a minimum we’re looking for a good food science/technology degree or equivalent with around two to three years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment. If it’s in the bakery sector, even better.
