Opportunity to drive the Packaging strategy in a newly created high-profile Packaging Specialist role.

Here you’ll take ownership of the Packaging category for a leading, multi-site food manufacturing group. You’ll manage the full product portfolio and supplier base to drive innovation, sustainability, quality, and value.

As the trusted Packaging expert in the business, you’ll lead on strategic long-term projects and find solutions to immediate business challenges. This will involve stakeholder engagement across all business functions, working particularly closely with the procurement team to support the category strategy.

You’ll work closely with existing suppliers and identify new supply partners to support NPD projects and mitigate risks in the supply chain. This will include monitoring supplier KPI’s and developing the packaging specification database.

You’ll liaise with suppliers and industry experts to keep abreast of changes to legislation, retailers’ ways of working and the latest innovations in packaging materials and processes.

This is a newly created position that will have a high profile across the business. You’ll be able to deliver significant change, joining a company with real ambition to be a leader in responsible sourcing and sustainability initiatives.

To succeed here you’ll need to have a breadth of knowledge across food packaging materials and formats along with experience supplying into the major retailers. Confident at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, you’ll have experience influencing at a senior level, gained within a group level role.
