This role isn’t fine tuning OEE from 90% to 95%. It isn’t (yet) starting a WCM journey. The factories are relatively new, but each additional expansion has created a non-linear flow.

But this business is much more than that. They have a heritage story, that has allowed them to create fantastic products and from walking around the factory, a genuine warmth across the people there. And it is this quality, innovation and people focused ethos that has seen them create a range of new brands for a broad spectrum of customers, as well as export products as far as Australia.

And this heritage story is just about to start a brand new chapter, which will begin with the creation of this brand new Operations Lead role, meaning due to the background of the business you will be the first set of external manufacturing eyes to lay sight on the factory.

You will have a great opportunity to review all elements of the manufacturing operations of the business and have full autonomy to create a production facility that has recently grown and will continue to do so.

So, if you have worked in food operations but are tired of constantly chasing numbers, there cannot be a better opportunity for you than this one. Get back to being focused on delivering through people and implementing your well tested CI plan.

And you won’t find a better view to do it from. Most factories I have visited have either a view of the industrial unit next to them, or no windows at all. This looks out onto rolling green hills with sheep grazing on them and is everything you think of when you picture the lake district. Some of the more recent joiners (including the MD) have relocated themselves and family up here for the quality of life, and the business is happy to support you financially on this front as well.

As above, this won’t be the best opportunity if measured purely by size. But measured by enjoyment of the job, you would be hard pressed to find a better one than this.
