As Buyer/Trading Manager you’ll report directly into the Trading Controller for a market leading international Food and FMCG business.

My client has ambitious growth plans and are looking to recruit two Buyers, one for their chilled category and one for their frozen category. They are huge advocates of personal development and offer a great team working environment.

Day to day you’ll be responsible for developing, implementing, and reviewing your category strategy to deliver efficiency and exciting ranges at the best price and profitability for the business. A major part of the role will be to build strong relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders to ensure that your category is delivered whilst ensuring that all stakeholders are kept updated.

You’ll need buying experience gained within a UK food retail and/or UK food wholesale environment or similar.

Along with proven experience of negotiating, managing a supplier base and achieving results you’ll need knowledge of pricing and promotional management, strong analytical, numerical and forecasting skills with strong stakeholder management abilities.

This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 2 days in the office each week with potential occasional travel to suppliers.
