Allied Bakeries are one of the leading bakeries in the UK, producing the Kingsmill, Sunblest and Allinson brands amongst others. They produce an extensive range of loaves, crumpets, muffins, rolls and wraps that are stocked in major supermarkets across the UK.
The company was founded in 1935 by Willard Garfield Weston, and originally comprised just seven bakeries. In their first year of business the company made a profit of £50,000. Last year their profits were almost £500 million.
They are a division of Allied Milling and Baking, which is part of a much larger international business, Associated British Foods (ABF) plc. ABF employ over 100,000 staff and have a turnover of £11.1bn a year.
As well as supplying major retailers with the county’s leading brands they also supply certain retailers with their own branded bakery products.
This year the company commissioned their largest bread manufacturing plant in East London, which will have the capacity to produce 10,000 loaves an hour.

Somebody in this role would have a knowledge of hygiene methodologies and the use of hygiene chemicals.
