Great British food award winners have been announced…
The awards have been going since 2014 and have just announced. The awards attracted more than 1,000 entries. With 122 gold awards being awarded and one grand champion being named.
The awards celebrate the UKs artisanal products. From snacks, beers, spirits and baked goods to cheese and confectionery. There were several high profile judges including Michel Roux Jr, Raymond Blanc OBE and Olly Smith.
The judges were certainly impressed by the products in terms of both quality and quantity. Due to a change in the judging process there have been far more awards given out this year than any other year.
The three step judging process saw so many products taste-tested culminating in Harvey Nichols being awarded as the Grand Champion.

Vegan – Julienne Bruno for their Burrella and Vegan Crazy for their My Vegan Dulce Leche
Poultry –Packington Free Range for their Free Range Chicken , Frenchbeer Farm for their Super small whole turkey and Lidl-Birchwood for their roast in bag garlic and herb chicken.
Confectionary – Marsdens Fudge for their Salted Caramel Fudge and Sugarcane Studio for their Passion Fruit Marshmallow
Ready Meals – Osbourne’s for their Lobster Mac n Cheese
Savoury Biscuits –The Drinks Bakery for their Lancashire Cheese & Spring Onion Drinks Biscuit and Burren Balsamics Ltd for their Proper Digestive Biscuits
Dairy – Trewithen Dairy for their Cornish Clotted Cream, Meggy Moo’s Dairy for their Whole Milk, St Helen’s Farm for their Natural Goat’s Milk Yoghurt
