I am recruiting an excellent role for a Site Operations Manager for a reputable, market leading FMCG business in Yorkshire.
My client has an exceptional product portfolio with a sterling reputation throughout the market serving and supplying to around 80 countries offering a strong international reach.
This is a great opportunity to join an award winning, multi sited business who continue to go through a series of growth, my credible client has strong financial backing with recent heavy investment across their Yorkshire site.
As Operations Site Manager it will be your responsibility to shape the operations department and lead the team to success, implementing a strong people culture and influencing the team driving continuous improvement and quality across all aspects of production and engineering.
The role will be managing both the operations and engineering team within a very fast paced, high pressurised manufacturing environment, this role isn’t for the faint hearted and you will need to have a real gravitas in order for your team to respect you and your strategy moving forward.
The role will be managing a team of around 150 individuals so strong leadership skills is a must have, strong leadership qualities and be able to communicate effectively working closely with Technical, Engineering, Operations and other teams across the company. Ideally you will have several years’ experience managing large teams within a fast paced FMCG / Food Manufacturing environment, you will have a full understanding on managing engineering and maintenance teams. It will be your responsibility to ensure that KPIs are hit across Quality, Yield, Health and Safety etc.
You will ensure that training is provided for those who need it and who you believe can step up and progress. Controlling the operational budget, you must be financially astute and have great attention to detail when forecasting and planning.
My client is passionate about driving Continuous Improvement and often you will be the most senior individual cross the company so you must ensure that you shape your team to be problem solving individual, it will be advantageous to have a SixSigma qualification but not essential, what I essential is having the experience to know how to make strategic business improvements and having a proven track record of doing this in your current or past employment.
Reporting into the Operations Director and liaising with other directors throughout the company you will have the confidence and ability to present and report at board level.
It is essential that you have been in a leading operational management position before and have FMCG / Food Manufacturing experience, my client ideally would like an (Engineering / Operations / Technical) degree qualified professional and or have an engineering background (Time spent, training).
