Our client is looking for an experienced Development Manager to join its team of professional Food Developers. You will already have worked within own label manufacturing - ideally, chilled foods but certainly short shelf life - in the NPD arena. This is a management role, so we will be looking for someone who has significant experience of managing a team.
Working with the major retailers will be a key part of this role.
The Development Manager will need to have outstanding communication skills;
- Interacting regularly with the customer
- Inspiring them with first to market product ideas
- Building relationships through listening and acting on briefs is key
- Sharing your knowledge and adding suggestions in to the mix all help to ensure that these relationships are maximised to the full potential
Based in Scotland does mean that a degree of travel to the customer will be required for the Development Manager. Obviously, while away for overnights the opportunity to sample the new restaurants and food establishments around London will be a part of the remit. Keeping abreast of current trends is, after all, key to this role!
