You turn up to work as a Shift Manager daily, always early for a shift, always staying late, always going that extra mile, but yet you feel there is something missing, no opportunities for progression perhaps?

As a Shift Manager within this business you will be gaining job security by being part of a large food group, you will join like-minded people who want to be coached, trained and developed and have a lot to offer! The site is undergoing a cultural change, and there are lots of opportunities for you to drive this through successfully with your shift; encourage an open environment of information sharing and give ownership for quality and safety culture on site.
Managers do not “rule with a stick” it is about how you get the best out of your team, working hands-on, engaging and giving a real sense of empowerment to your staff to ensure targets and met. You will be able to see others grow, flourish and improve and you will also be treated the same by your manager. The Production Manager is down to Earth and full of inspiration and energy. He has also worked his way up from the shop floor and would like someone who is hungry and keen to be the next him in a few years’ time – what more could you want! The site has grown rapidly over the past three years – with 35% growth and has had considerable investment into new technologies and lines – so there is real investment from the group to continue to expand and develop the business in the UK. There is a great mix of equipment and processes so lots of variety too!
It isn’t an easy ride, the site is complex and very fast-paced, and there will be people management and ER issues to deal with but with the right manager, and continued investment this is a great opening to bring your expertise to site to really make an impact! The management team are all on the same page and will support you to do this.
This is a hands-on management role leading a large team of Operatives. General responsibilities will include:
- Management of performance through KPIs – Safety, Quality, Cost
- People development, leadership and management
- Promote and drive H&S and Quality focussed culture
This role is working 4 days on, 4 days off - 12 hour shift pattern (6am-6pm).
