This is your opportunity to really drive change across key categories within a well-known branded food business.

This role is working for a leading brand in its sector who also manufacture own label products on behalf of all the major retailers in the UK. They have won numerous awards and a big part of their strategy moving forward is international growth. The business has had significant investment over the last couple of years to facilitate this growth and expansion.

They are now looking for a Purchasing Manager to manage the packaging, proteins, and dry materials in the business, along with areas of indirect services. Reporting into the Head of Procurement they are looking for someone to lead the packaging and raw materials categories offering a huge opportunity for the right professional to drive change in areas absolutely essential for the business.

You will need to be a real self-starter and have a strong procurement background in a food manufacturing environment. Strong packaging buying experience is essential and knowledge of buying proteins would be highly advantageous. You’ll have great working knowledge of best practice souring and evaluation techniques using a variety of tools. Great communication skills are essential, and you’ll need to engage effectively with senior level stakeholders and will be comfortable challenging previous ways of working through your strong influencing skills.

The role will be predominantly home based and would suit someone living in the Northamptonshire, Leicestershire or Warwickshire areas. You will be expected to come into the office two days a week, as well as travel in the UK and occasionally to the EU.
