Opportunity to be part of a major food manufacturing company at the forefront of production innovation. We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join a small, dynamic, fast-paced Planning team at the heart of the factory. If you are experienced in food manufacturing planning and can handle the pressure and demands of fast-paced, short shelf life products and ever-changing customer needs we want to hear from you!
The role of a Production Planner is pressurised but highly rewarding; knowing that without you products would not make it to major UK customers on time. The business is vast and diverse and will open the doors to many career opportunities. As the Production Planner you will be working at one of two large factories on site, in a team of four to schedule materials for six labour intensive production lines producing 120 types of product, sixteen hours a day seven days a week! Scheduling product to the lines, on time and adapting production plans to daily changes will require a cool head under pressure, excellent communication skills and planning systems experience.
The shift for this role is Wednesday - Saturday 6am - 4pm.
- Create and Issue three week rolling production plans
- Aim to hit 100% customer service levels at all times
- Plan internal / external stock storage
- Ensure fluid communication throughout supply chain and with customers
- Plan and raise materials orders
- Attend daily production and planning meetings and contribute to identifying risks and making improvements short and long term
- Utilise KPIs to measure performance
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working in production planning in food manufacturing, chilled, or short shelf life product highly preferable but not essential. You will show advanced Excel skills including - visual basic and modelling and will be able to learn planning systems quickly. You will demonstrate exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence and adapt to change.
