This growing airline catering business is looking for an ambitious manufacturing specialist to take on the role of Operations Manager. Reporting into the Deputy MD you will be overseeing a team of around 60 people across two shifts. You will be accountable for running the Production unit, Goods in/out, Kitchen, Transport and Office. In addition, you will liaise with customers communicating important information to internal departments within the Company.
Supplying chilled meals to the airline sector the production team consists of Chefs, Sous Chefs and Exec Chefs bring a culinary approach to manufacturing rather than large scale factory processes. Customers include major airlines and high-end retailers with products delivered by 3rd party logistics.
As Operations Manager you will ensure the correct staffing levels are maintained for the production levels, working with the sales/planning team to plan for menu changes and special events. Training staff on any process changes and keeping in the loop on any major issues with customers.
A background in fast-paced chilled food production in a position such as Production Manager would be a good basis for this role. A good understanding about food safety requirements and HACCP from your previous roles is essential and a professional approach to dealing with colleagues and customers is required.
