Excellent opportunity for an Operations and Transport Manager to join a well established food company in Greater Manchester.
My Client is a market leading food company with an impressive client and brand portfolio across food service, restaurants on the high street. As the Operations and Transport Manager you will be responsible for managing and reviewing all reporting departments to achieve business objectives. With the biggest names across the food, restaurant, and hospitality industry and this role is key to driving business success.
You will have the responsibility of ensuring the Operations department performs in line with required health and safety, people, cost and KPI measurements always looking at ways to improve efficiencies across site.
To apply or this role you must have at least 5 years management experience across Logistics and supply chain, ideally you will be educated to degree level. Qualifications across CIPS, HACCP, Health and Safety and Iosh managing safely are desirable.
You will be the lead for the operations, warehouse and transport functions and must have the ability to influence and develop the team promoting a strong positive people culture across site. You will be reasonable for Health and Safety, food safety and other metrics set ensuring that your team is fully trained and compliant against company standards.
You will have a thorough understanding of supply chain and Logistics, ideally this person will have experience managing warehouses and depots to success with strong examples of ways you have improved and managed sites in the past, ideally within a food service company or food manufacturers, other FMCG sectors will also be considered.
You will be the driving force in implementing continuous improvement, leading all lean and CI Projects always looking for ways to improve efficiencies, a lean six sigma qualification is not required although it would be desirable as would experience lean tools and techniques (RCS, 5S, Lean etc.)
You will be working closely with all departments and will form part of the senior leadership team; you will have excellent communications skills and able to present at board level.
