I’m currently recruiting for a Night Shift Manager on behalf of hugely successful family business within the FMCG sector.
My client has maintained market leading status for several decades providing some of the UKs top retailers with their award winning products, with a reputation for really looking after their colleagues this is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious professional who wants to be part of a team who know the importance of having a great company culture.
As the Night Shift Manager, you will be the most senior person on shift so it’s essential that you have strong leadership qualities and a real gravitas. You will have the ability to influence a multi skilled team and lead them with the goal of running a successful shift. You will be working closely with Engineering, Operations, Technical, Supply Chain etc so it’s essential that you have strong communications skills.
To achieve planned production output, meeting customer specifications and all food safety requirements with nil safety incidents. You will know the importance of Health and Safety and will be the example of maintaining a safe working environment for you and your team. Minimum level 3 in Health and Safety is required for this role. You will have worked in food manufacturing before and have qualifications in HACCP and Food Safety.
You will be a strategic thinking manager ensuring to plan your shift effectively, setting daily KPIs (Quality, Cost, yield etc.) and looking at ways to improve, you will review performance of your team and offer your expertise with training where needed.
It’s essential that you have been in a similar role and have several years’ experience within Food Manufacturing / FMCG, my client has a real drive for continuous improvement across the site so its pivotal you know the importance of CI and have experience implementing tools and techniques (Root Cause Analysis, 5s, Lean manufacturing) where needed but more importantly driving a strong CI culture to your team, you will not only be a problem solver but you will train and lead your team into becoming problem solvers to! Having a SixSigma qualification would be desirable.
Reporting directly into the Head of Operations and handing over to the Day Shift Team you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth running across production, communicating what issues you had that could potentially affect the day shift providing solutions of how best to overcome any issues. You will be able to present to board level and have the confidence to provide solutions, effective planning and ideas of how best to improve.
This role can be stressful, it WILL come with challenges and it’s not for the faint hearted but for an ambitious, dedicated Operations Manager it’s a fantastic opportunity to lead a team, implement your skill set and put your own individual stamp on it.
