Job Description

If you have a proven track record of managing a Hygiene team in chilled / high risk food manufacturing and would like to join a progressive company with opportunities to make a real impact, improving, challenging and implementing change to continue to support the business as it grows this is the role for you! 

This Hygiene Team Manager is working a Friday - Tuesday night shift - 10pm - 6am. You will have a lot of autonomy leading a large, diverse Hygiene team of around 25 staff and have full control of budget for ordering materials, chemicals, PPE etc. for your shift. 

Yes the shift isn't for everyone, but this is a great site to join with low staff turnover and real customer loyalty. You will be working at a site that manufactures over 120 different product SKUS for major UK retailers. You will be responsible for leading, coaching and developing your team to be the best they can be and deliver improvements. An innovative business that is keen for like-minded people to come in and look for and implement areas for improvements. 

As Night Hygiene Shift Manager you will: 

  • Lead, train, manage and develop a large team of Hygiene Operatives
  • Deliver the cleaning schedule
  • Review labour resource
  • Ensure equipment is available for use on shift
  • Daily measurement of consumables
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings
  • Audit all cleaning practices and procedures
  • Ensure effective communication between production and hygiene teams
  • Training and development of staff
  • Utilise KPIs to review performance
  • Investigate and report any accidents

The successful candidate will have previous experience of leading, managing and developing a large team of Hygiene Operatives preferably within chilled food manufacturing. You will have excellent knowledge of HACCP and H&S and will be able to develop and maintain cleaning systems to ensure efficiency. Communication skills and previous people management expertise is essential.
