I am looking for a Maintenance Manager for an ambitious, fast growing, independent food manufacturing company in North Yorkshire.
My client continues to maintain market leading status and have exciting growth plans with huge financial backing that they have already began to invest heavily across this site.
As Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for the maintenance strategy and planning across the site, the role includes planning, resourcing and managing all the engineering work and assets across the site. This will include management of all breakdown, scheduled and turnaround engineering workload.
Ideally you will have experience developing preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment and developing maintenance KPIs for the team (Quality, H&S, Breakdowns etc).
You will need to be an excellent people manager who can implement a strong people culture across the site influencing you team opposed to telling the team what to do, you will also have full control of managing contractors & suppliers required to support production & overall facility maintenance.
Your remit will include the development of your team with regular coaching, mentoring, training and leadership. You will be an advocate of implementing health and safety across site, (H&S qualification would be desirable) and take responsibility for train your team if required.
It’s essential you will have controlled engineering budgets before and ideally have experience in purchasing and ordering on SAP, you will be analytical and financially astute.
You must have managed maintenance teams before wit ideally 5 or more years’ experience and worked within food manufacturing (other FMCG sectors will also be considered). Continuous improvement is a huge driver for the company and my client is looking for a maintenance manager who can implement a CI culture across site to.
To be considered for this role you will need to be time spent and have an Engineering degree or equivalent experience, as the head of engineering rightly said to me when taking this brief “this individual must have strong leadership qualities, with a real gravitas and know what you’re talking about”.
