A Food Safety gold standard Microbiology mission awaits you.

My client is on a mission. They were the trailblazers of a meat-free, sustainable food source, originally designed to beat world food shortages and their mission hasn’t changed. Over time, this branded business has grown exponentially; there are a vast array of products available in all the major multiple retailers. 30% YoY growth means their mission will see output of 8 billion servings across product sectors.

Reducing carbon emissions, water usage and with zero cholesterol or saturated fat, this leading manufacturer is not just helping to feed the world, they’re sustaining the planet at the same time. Wouldn’t you want to be part of that mission?

Microbiology standards play a vital part in the process. As the Food Safety Microbiologist, you will own the company food safety design programme across multiple UK sites, as well as providing support for European manufacturing operations. Working alongside and reporting into a senior stakeholder, you will drive the microbiology strategy into defined processes, ensuring gold standardisation to microbiology food safety company wide.

The role dimensions extend well beyond the laboratory. Food Safety Design and company HACCP is your responsibility, requiring someone who is a proactive communicator, able to engage with multiple stakeholders to really drive standards upwards.

This is not a role for an academic, you will be an agile thinker with commercial focus, gained in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. Having said that, your academic achievements will need to include a Masters degree in food microbiology, microbiology, food science or biology. This will be supported by several years’ experience of food and beverage regulations, customer standards and allergen and chemical contaminants, along with significant experience of microbiological testing methodologies. A familiarity around toxicology risk and FMSA hazard assessments is also desirable.

So your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to send me your CV and let’s explore where it could take you.
