As a technical professional in the UK food industry, you already know you are in great demand.
So, what can this role do for you?
I can confidently say this is a great business you can be proud to work for - lovely environment, passionate people, working on industry-leading projects. However everyone has their own personal and very different reasons why some jobs are more appealing than others. So here's some transparent facts about this position -
You'll be responsible for all matters relating to food safety, quality and technical standards across a sizeable product category. This will involve working closely with your supplier base so they'll be some travel. Typically you'll spend half the week (including Mondays) at Head Office in London and half the week out travelling with a bit of home working. It's a full-time role and your diary will be led by the priorities within your product area.
The focus here is on finding creative solutions to technical challenges - how do you support the NPD team in delivering that amazing, first to market new product whilst maintaining the highest quality and safety standards?
You'll have a lot of different stakeholders to build relationships with - in and out of the business - influencing and engaging confidently and having tenacity and resilience are key skills.
It's a high profile role and sometimes there will be industry-wide or supplier specific issues that you will need to confidently lead on from a technical perspective. You'll need a real breadth of experience in the industry, be able to keep calm in a crisis and make rational, informed decisions.
This is a business that sets the bar really high from a technical and food safety perspective - so they'll expect you to be constantly building on your (already in-depth) technical knowledge and awareness of global food issues. They'll also provide first class training and development opportunities to you and the chance to get involved in high-profile industry wide initiatives.
People who fit in and do well here are typically very driven, ambitious for themselves but also passionate about doing a great job and helping a business succeed. They are professional yet personable and know how to build good relationships with others to get things done. A lot of people love it and stay here for years. Others gain really valued experience that leads to different things elsewhere.
They have a comprehensive benefits package and will offer a salary to entice the right individual that depends on their level of experience.
