The Category Executive role will give you the opportunity to develop your career in UK foodservice where you can deliver category strategies, support own brand innovation, and identify gaps in product ranges.

In this role you’ll be working in a business with an “open door policy” where customers are at the front and centre of my client’s business. They are led by research and insights across food trends, latest technology, and market data that helps them to improve, develop, and serve their customers to the best of their ability.

My client offers progression across departments and operates multiple sites across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to grow your knowledge in the world of UK foodservice, working for a leading wholesaler who offers an extensive range of quality products across all product categories. They work across sectors supplying hotels, pubs, restaurants & coffee shops, education, healthcare & care homes, business & industry, and travel & leisure.

Working in the Commercial Category team within your group you’ll be delivering category strategies. Your expertise in interpreting market data will be key as you deep dive into your product category, your competitors, and your customers across multiple sectors of the industry.

You’ll have full responsibility for the insight generation of your category range reviews along with supporting own brand innovation and identifying gaps in the range. You’ll also manage your category’s collateral and work closely with the marketing team to ensure that it is implemented to your standards.

To qualify for this role, you’ll need:

  • Product marketing experience in either foodservice or retail
  • Either marketing qualifications, business, or a marketing degree
  • Experience in a marketing, copy writing, or developing marketing campaigns and developing insight driven marketing/project plans
  • Working proactively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience in budgetary planning and management
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally to suppliers and exhibitions
