Buyer Ingredients & Indirects, 6 mnth FTC, Food, W.Yorkshire

My client is looking for an experienced Buyer to take ownership of the ingredients and indirects category spends and to create and deliver cost-saving opportunities.

My client manufacturers some of the UK’s leading household brands.

They have multiple manufacturing sites in the North of England and employ nearly 1,000 people.

Due to an increased workload they require an experienced Ingredients and Indirects Buyer to support the business for a period of six months, to start ASAP.

The salary for this role is £35-40,000 pro rata dependant on experience

Job Role –
To manage the category spend in your area; ingredients and indirects.
This will involve buying for the best price at the less risk, managing, and working with suppliers to ensure goods are received on time.

Key Responsibilities:

Category ownership
Ensure the business sources supplies at the most competitive prices
Lead the development and implementation of nominated sourcing category strategies across the spend categories
Prepare tender documents as required
Develop and maintain a prospective supplier database
Provide operational and commercial support to other departments including finance, technical, operational, new product development, commercial, and marketing
