Economists predict UK food inflation will decrease and be 9% in December
December is coming and it looks like the UK’s food inflation is finally taking a downturn!
According to economists, food inflation is predicted to ease in the coming month and decrease to 9%. This is a welcome change given the steady but significant rise in food prices observed over this year.
This prediction is backed by data from May, which saw a slight food inflation decrease to 18.4% compared to April. Although this is still a significant figure, it is certainly a step in the right direction.
But, whilst economists predict a drop, will this be enough to make a significant and sustained difference in people’s food bills? This remains to be seen.
Nevertheless, here’s to hoping for a more stable food inflation rate in UK over the coming months.
