Business to business is where one food company sells to another certain ingredients that form part of the final product. For example, the bread for sandwich making is supplied from a bakery business into a sandwich manufacturer, who then makes the final sandwich and sells to Retailers.
Many of the B2B companies are now using eCommerce to stay ahead of their competition.
Some examples of B2B businesses include Producers and Resellers.
Firstly, let’s look at producers, these are companies that purchase products off one business and then transform it into something else. For example, a company that supplies potatoes to a crisp manufacturer is a producer. There are many producers in the UK that then supply their products either directly to the customer or to retail customers.
Next are the resellers, these businesses will sell goods or services produced by someone else without changing them. The likes of wholesalers, food brokers or retailers do this.
