The FMCL Football Team
Established in July 2010, the FMCL football team has gone from strength to strength, playing every Monday and in various local and regional tournaments.
6-a-side, Monday night
A Monday evening at Tyhtherington High School, Macclesfield will see a number of gents from across the business playing football in the SoccerSixes 6-a-side league. After entering the tournament in the Premier league (the only available slot), the FMCL football team, more commonly known as Unathletico Madrid, made their way to the lowest league to start from scratch.
After a great season with some good football, the team finished 3rd in Division 1. Unathletico Madrid are looking for a repeat performance this season as they play some familiar teams from last season and also some new teams who've just joined.
Caravan Charity 5-a-side Tournament
The FMCL football team recently entered into the Caravan Charity Tournament at Goals Leeds on Saturday 16th July 2011, to help raise money for the grocery industry.
The 5-a-side tournament saw Focus Management Consultants play some big brands in the food and FMCG industry including Proctor & Gamble, Buckingham Foods, Greencore Deserts and Sainsbury's. The results from Round 1 saw Focus Management Consultants move through to Round 2 for the Plate, however a tough game against ingredients and dried foods business, Symingtons, saw Focus Management Consultants knocked out of the tournament.
Nevertheless, a good day out and all for a good cause! Congratulations to cereal and snack manufacturer Kellogg's, who were the 2011 tournament winners.
